DNP Limited is a Govt. of Assam Undertaking registered under Companies Act, 1956 on 15th June, 2007 and Joint Venture Company of Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL), Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and Oil India Limited (OIL).
Assam Gas Company conceived the project of transportation of natural gas from Duliajan to Numaligarh for Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) way back in 2004. OIL and NRL signed an agreement for gas supply from Madhuban at Duliajan to NRL on 17th March 2005 and a gas transportation agreement was signed between AGCL and NRL on 27th June 2005.
